He Sent Forth His Words – Sunday Ikpang, Nigeria
One day my mum told me a story, that, when she became pregnant of me, she experiences so many mysterious things, from terrible night mares to bleeding and different kind of troubles. During delivery it was hell, she never thought she could give birth, there in the labour room she remembered, Exodus 1:19, in this word passages about the Hebrew women and the midwife of Egypt; she claimed safe delivery and promise to dedicate the baby to God and God answered her.
My birth brought joy and happiness to all and sundry, people from everywhere came to celebrate with my parents, I was born on the first day of the week so some people suggested I be given, the name Chosen.-Chosen by God. All things being equal life was splendours, when I was born,the joy of my parents were full; when other of my siblings follow suite.
My mother fulfilled her promise by dedicating me in the church on Sunday morning Service. When I was Eleven I became born again. After then I fell terribly sick and bedridden after some years. It was like I will never survive it out of the sick bed. My parents did all their possible best to make me recover but everything was effortless.
One night I couldn’t move my body at all, it was twelve midnight, I was dying gradually. It was like I was heading towards a tunnel to cross over to eternity; then I remembered a passage from the Bible that talks about prayer and faith-Mark 11: 22-23 “Have faith in God” Jesus answered. I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain. “ God throw yourself into the sea and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen it will be done for him. so I started praying for God to heal me I took a step and began to confess these words “Lord, I believe without doubt that you can heal me”
“I confess this passage into my life” I continue “ I believe you can heal me, sent forth your words and heal me”
“God, if you heal me, just like you heal so many people in the bible and in our world today”
“I promise to serve you all the days of my life” I continued “please God heal me.”
“I beg you to heal me in Jesus’ name” I concluded.
I didn’t want to entertain doubt, so I started worshiping and praising God with songs. Everybody in the room heard me and encourage me to continue praying until I fell asleep. I woke up the next morning feeling a bit relieved and hungry, I started moving my body, I could sit to take my break fast and everybody in the house were amazed.
Three days later I was walking around playing with other children in the compound a month later I became totally well. I became more committed and dedicated in God’s service in my church. A time came I lost my way because peer group and peer pressure;, but before this time I had made a solid and concrete promise to God to serve him and I prayed this prayers
“God if I ever want to back-slide totally tomorrow take my life today” At age sixteen I became sick of typhoid fever that almost took my sight away, I was weak and depreciating, as at this time I was staying with a relative of my dad, who never took care of me nor mindful of his home, his business was more important to him than any thing else. It was terrible and horrible to me.
One thing I believe is God’s ability to do anything. I believe in his presence in my life. Some of my friends in church came and visited me and pray for me, and, I continue to remind God of his promises in his words and I also reminded him of my covenant to him. God heal me and not only healing I never become sick again. I will like to say that God is still true to his words, he had promise us divine healing, divine provision, divine hope. I love this portion of the Bible that said he sent forth his word and heal them and rescue them from the grave- psalm 107:20. And that includes me and you.
