The End and the Beginning by Jepkosgei Marion
On an earth that was filled with darkness and emptiness
A word was spoken and light swallowed darkness
Goodness came upon a land
Stars, moon, shiny days, and showers sprang of God’s creative wand
The once empty land was filled like a sauna
With springs of water, the lushness of herbs, and the grace of fauna
Then God placed His own image at the pinnacle of these masterpieces
Man, woman, and the Sabbath; creation’s centerpieces
Yet, darkness still lingered in the face of the earth
In their nakedness, woman and man defied God’s path
Cursed and cast from God’s sight
They bore sons; sinful since birth
But what wonderful and merciful father God is
Called Noah, closed his eyes, and flooded the earth to cleanse;
The end of man’s anguish in tribulation
The beginning of God’s plan for salvation
Then God founded a faithful nation in one man
And bore 12 of His tribes out of one son
Ending sin’s alienation of man and God
Beginning man’s strive after God’s heart and accord.
Sin was born out of man;
And sin died with a man
So that all men would live
Sin’s birth and death, was to keep man alive.
